PM Modi’s next visits are deemed’significant’ for enhancing ties by Russia and Austria.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s next visits to Russia and Austria, according to them, will represent a “significant milestone” for strengthening bilateral ties with India. On July 8 and 9, PM Modi will travel to Russia; on July 9 and 10, he will visit Austria.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Russia and Austria starting on July 8. Both Moscow and Vienna have expressed that the visits by the Indian leader will be “important” and “significant” in terms of strengthening bilateral ties with India.
At Russian President Vladimir Putin’s request, the prime minister will first go to Moscow on July 8 and 9 to attend the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit. Then, on July 9 and 10, he will make his first visit to Austria as prime minister of India in 41 years. In order to maintain bilateral relations, Russia anticipates a “very important and full-fledged visit” from PM Modi, according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on Saturday.
In an interview with the state-run VGTRK television channel in Russia, Peskov stated that PM Modi will be visiting Moscow for a long time and that he will be having informal conversations with Putin.
“There’s little doubt that there will be a lot on the schedule—if not too much. Although it’s an official visit, we hope the heads will have some informal conversations as well,” he stated.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced the visit on Thursday. PM Modi and Putin will review the full range of complex relations between the two nations and share perspectives on current regional and global issues of mutual interest during the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit.
The highest institutional engagement mechanism in the strategic alliance between India and Russia is the yearly summit between the two nations’ presidents. 21 yearly summits have so far been held in Russia and India alternatively.
The final yearly summit took place in Delhi on December 6, 2021. In order to attend the meeting, Putin traveled to India.
PM Modi’s first trip to Russia in over five years will be this one. He last traveled to the nation in 2019 to attend a significant economic conference in Vladivostok, a location in the Far East.
Peskov claims that relations between Russia and India are at the level of a strategic partnership. “We are expecting a very important and full-fledged visit, which is so crucial for Russian-Indian relations,”
