The borders of voting places are being determined and expanded, in addition to the updating of voter lists. Compared to the Lok Sabha elections, there will be more voting places for the assembly elections. Verification will be done door to door with the assistance of special camps on July 27–28 and August 3–4.

Election officials said that on July 12, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) will meet with an ECI secretary-level officer. The drive for polls comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced his resolve to hold assembly elections and reinstate Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood in Srinagar on International Yoga Day. JP Nadda, the national president of the BJP, later traveled to the area to advance this goal.
