Sankashti Chaturthi 2024 Importance: Worshiping Lord Ganesha on the day of Sankashti Chaturthi brings happiness, prosperity, wealth, fame, success and fame to a person.
Krishna Paksha’s Sanksha Chaturthi Vrat of Ashadha month is known as Ashadha Sankasha Chaturthi or Gajana Sankasha Chaturthi.
On this day, special worship is performed to Ganesha, the first worshipper. It is believed that worshiping Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, on this auspicious day will remove all kinds of troubles of a person and bring happiness and prosperity to a person.
Ashadha Sankashta Chaturthi 2024 Shubha Muhurta, Pooja Ritual – Methods are as follows.
According to the Panchanga, the Krishna Paksha Chaturthi Tithi of Asadha month begins on July 24 at 7:30 am and ends at 4:19 am the next day, i.e. on July 25. According to Udaya Tithi, Ashadha’s first Ganesha Sanksha Chaturthi is celebrated on Wednesday, July 24.
Moon worship on this day is considered to have special significance. So on this day the fast is broken only after moonrise. By worshiping Chandra God on this day one gets mental peace and happiness. Moonrise will be at 9.38 am on the first day of Ashadha Sankasha Chaturthi.
On this day get up before sunrise and take a bath and wear clean clothes.
- Then place a Pooja Peetha in the North East corner of the house. Spread a red or yellow cloth over it and then install the Ganesha idol.
- After this, take the resolution to fast while meditating on Lord Ganesha.
- Then start worshiping Ganapati. Offer water, durva, akshata and betel leaves to Ganesha.
After this, convey your wish to God and chant the mantra “Gam Ganapatye Namah”.
- Light incense and lamp in front of Ganapati’s idol and chant this mantra. ‘Gajananam bhoota ganadi sevatam, kapittha jambu phala charu bhakshanam| ‘Umasutham shoka annihakarakam, namami vigneswara pada pankajam.’
- On this day offer Motichur Laddu or Modaka and perform Aarti to Lord Ganesha.
- After worshiping Ganesha, you can eat things made of fruits, peanuts, payas, milk, curd or sabudana. But it is better not to use rock salt during this fast.
- Worship Ganesha again in the evening as per the rituals. Also listen to the story of Sanksha Chaturthi at this time.
- After worshiping Ganesha, worship the moon at night.
- Offer milk, sandalwood or payasa to Moon God. Then take this as prasadam and break the fast.
